Information used by this website
When you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, company, website and message. Please provide only information needed for your enquiry. Successful website enquiries are stored in WordPress and queued for our Google Sheets lead register. The contact details and any reviewed project brief are also sent through our business email system so we can respond and follow up. Email delivery logs may retain message content and delivery status.
Our hosting infrastructure processes technical information, including IP addresses and request logs, to deliver the website, investigate faults and protect it against abuse. The country suggestion for WhatsApp uses a local IP-country database and can be changed manually.
Optional website analytics operates only after consent, as described in our Cookie Policy. Merely contacting us is not a subscription to marketing emails.
Purposes and legal bases
We use enquiry information to respond, discuss requested services and take steps towards a contract when requested. Relevant bases are steps at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, and our legitimate interest in handling business correspondence. Website operation and security rely on our legitimate interest in maintaining a functioning, secure service. Optional analytics relies on consent. Applicable legal obligations may require retention of certain business records.
Access, providers and international processing
Information may be handled by authorised people working on your enquiry and by the hosting, email and technical service providers needed to operate the site. Google Sheets is used to organise submitted enquiries and follow-up. Google Analytics is an optional provider described in the Cookie Policy. Contacting us through WhatsApp or another external platform also involves that provider and its privacy terms. Some providers may process information outside the EEA under their applicable safeguards; contact us for information about the providers relevant to your enquiry.
Retention and protection
We retain enquiry and technical information for the purposes for which it was collected, including necessary follow-up, security, contractual and legal requirements. Retention depends on the type of record and the relationship; you can ask us about a particular record or request deletion where applicable. Cookie durations are listed separately in the Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time through Cookie settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. We may need to verify your identity before handling a request.
You may complain to the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP, or another competent data-protection authority. For questions, write to office@semlion.com.
Optional ChatGPT advertising measurement
Optional ChatGPT advertising measurement uses a separate consent choice. With permission, SEM Lion stores a ChatGPT ad click reference in session storage for the current browser tab and sends OpenAI that reference, a random enquiry ID, the time and the enquiry page address without query parameters after a successful submission. We do not include contact details or enquiry text in this measurement event. Measurement is declined by default and respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. You can withdraw permission in cookie settings; withdrawal prevents future events and removes the locally stored click reference. It cannot undo an event already delivered. Queued event payloads expire within six days, and minimal delivery diagnostics are retained for up to thirty days.
Optional Google advertising measurement
A separate, initially unchecked Google ad measurement choice works together with Analytics consent. When both are enabled, Google receives website interaction and successful-enquiry events for advertising measurement. We can retain Google Ads click identifiers in session storage for the current tab and allow Google measurement cookies. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers or enquiry text in these events. Enhanced conversions using contact details, Google signals, remarketing and ad personalisation are not enabled.
The separate advertising choice lasts for the current tab session. Rejecting optional cookies or withdrawing this choice stops future advertising measurement and clears locally retained advertising identifiers and accessible advertising cookies; it does not undo data already sent. Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and our administrator browser opt-out override measurement consent. Google Analytics event and user retention is configured to 14 months; this is separate from the browser-cookie duration. Google processes measurement data under its Privacy Policy.
Lion AI Assist and the configurator
You can use the configurator without AI. If the Lion AI option is enabled and you press “Suggest my service mix”, your description, business sector, target market, business stage, website domain (without path or query parameters), goals, selected services and budget/timing choices are sent through our server to OpenAI. Service-page links prefill an editable starting brief and enable the AI option; you can switch it off. Nothing is sent merely by opening the page. We do not automatically send the name, email, phone number or additional-requirements field from the form. Please exclude personal or confidential information from the description. AI proposes services; you review and edit the choices before submitting your enquiry. Choices remain in the current page until submission or reload. Request counters help prevent abuse.
Optional live chat through tawk.to
Chat does not load automatically. Select “Live chat”, read the notice and choose “Open live chat” to activate it. tawk.to receives technical data, visitor identifiers and the messages you send to provide the conversation and its history. The widget may use tawk_uuid_* (up to six months), twk_idm_key and TawkConnectionTime (session), plus local storage for connection management. To stop the connection on this page, use “Stop chat”.
